Finnish machining and military explosives since 1946

The operations of the fully Finnish-owned company are divided into two business units operating in Eurajoki: a machine shop and an explosives factory.

The synergy and cooperation between these units strengthens the entire company, especially in innovation and product development, as well as ensures delivery reliability for production.

Operations began with safeguarding independence and reconstruction

Doctor of Philosophy Ilmari Liikkanen founded Raikka Oy in 1946 in Rauma soon after the wars ended. Under the watchful eye of the Control Commission, the company started the development and manufacture of pyrotechnic products for the needs of the Finnish military establishment, but Raikka Oy’s products were also developed for the reconstruction needs of our war-torn country.

In the late 1980s, the explosives factory had to relocate to Lapijoki in Eurajoki to give way to the expanding Rauma. After years of fundamental changes in the mining industry, the crushing station operations developed into machine shop operations near the center of Eurajoki.
